The second chapter of Gamma Xi Phi Professional Arts Fraternity–known as Beta Chapter–was established in the District of Columbia on October 3, 2011. The charter members were Jonathan Beverley, Sharnell Bryan, Rashid Darden, Raymond Eaddy, Nadia Blaine Fisher, Storme Gray, Shawn Spencer, and Tracy Watson. In Summer 2013, the charter members were joined by the chapter’s first initiates: Demetrius Beynum, Brittany Clark, and Danita Cooke.
Beta Chapter has been a trailblazer in the history of Gamma Xi Phi. Beta is the home of the incorporators of the fraternity as well as two national presidents, several other national officers, and national committee chairmen.
The strength of Beta Chapter is its programming. Except for the summer months, Beta hosts monthly events in line with the national program of the fraternity, Investing in Artists for the Community and the World.
